The Massachusetts Cultural Council offers large grants that can be used to restore buildings. In order to qualify for these grants we need to demonstrate that there are groups and individuals who would be interested in using the building for activities including the arts. The purpose of this is to show that the building could be economically viable.
In a recent meeting with Senator Stan Rosenberg and Representative Denise Andrews, Senator Rosenberg suggested that we find “cultural partners” to work with us in achieving this goal. Our cultural partners can include individuals or organizations involved in the performing arts, visual arts and crafts, educational workshops or conferences, programs for children, dance, yoga, or martial arts classes. They need not be based in Wendell, but can also include people from neighboring towns. Those who would be interested in using the building for spiritual or religious meetings or other activities such as farmers markets can also help in this effect.
If you have an interest in using the building after it is restored please contact Nancy Riebschlaeger at (978)544-2735 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
